People who love to eat are always the best people

Get to know more about me

Did you know I used to own a little juice business in my hometown, Pocatello, Idaho? I called it Joy Juice! It all began at the start of 2020, and what a learning adventure it was. Though I’ve since sold it to a very dear friend, Cheli, my love for a fresh, clean juice is still going strong!

I’m passionate about eating REALLY GOOD, CLEAN INGREDIENT, WHOLE FOODS! I can’t get enough of grapevines, apple orchards, and perfectly juicy peaches. One of my favorite things is discovering quality, homegrown foods in the community and supporting those families—sometimes with a quick Venmo payment (haha!).

Beyond food, I adore choreographing musical theatre and have taught cheer, dance, and musical theatre classes over the years. My greatest joy, though, comes from being a mom to three wonderful kids and sharing life with the most dedicated family man I could ever hope for. Pouring love into nourishing my family with wholesome meals is my favorite way to care for them, and I dream of seeing them carry on these habits into their own families someday.

Happy Eating! ~ Alisa

a little bit of history

I believe that behind every healthy person, there’s often a history of struggle—at least, that’s how it was for me. I didn’t always eat whole foods. My diet was mostly processed foods with the occasional, hard-to-spot veggie tossed into a Sunday dinner with the family. I didn’t know what to eat, let alone how to eat. Honestly, I didn’t even realize that food could be the key to feeling better and having more energy.

Everything changed when I started having seizures. It was a wake-up call, and I wouldn’t have made it through without the support of some amazing people. They spoon-fed me, held me, bought supplements for me, and took over my responsibilities when I couldn’t manage. The list of what they did for me is endless, and I’ll forever be grateful for their help during that time.

I had no choice but to change my diet if I wanted to heal. Thankfully, my spouse already had some healthy eating habits, which gave me a foundation to build on. As I began eating better, I started to feel better. The next step in my journey was working out and getting stronger, but my real turning point came during my third pregnancy.

A dear friend, and later a doctor, helped me discover that my blood sugar was dropping dangerously low. It wasn’t just about eating healthy; I needed to learn when and how to eat those healthy foods to fuel my body properly. That insight transformed my approach to food, and today, I’m better equipped to handle my health challenges with the right meals and fresh juices.

What a journey it has been! Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for all I’ve learned and for the chance to dance my way through life with renewed energy and joy.
